About the Full Plate Farm Collective

Many Community Supported Agriculture systems (CSA) are set up so that one farm provides all of the produce for its membership.  The Full Plate Farm Collective CSA is a collective model, where multiple farms work together to provide produce for a common membership. This allows each of our farms to focus on a specific set of crops, rather than produce all the crops themselves--for example, one farm can focus on producing high-quality tomatoes while another focuses on high-quality carrots.  Our farms share resources, like equipment, storage space, and our website.  Our wonderful coordinator, Sara, oversees things like distribution logistics, membership and sign-ups, and our regular farmers' meetings.

No matter where you pick up your share or have it delivered, your produce comes from all of the farms in the collective.

The Farms

Stick and Stone Farm (directions)

PU Wednesdays 3-7pm

Chaw Chang, Lucy Garrison-Clauson, Greta, Ezra, and Rhoda farm just 4.5 miles from downtown Ithaca towards Jacksonville. They grow a wide range of vegetables, including lettuce, cooking greens, summer and winter squash, heirloom tomatoes, beets and spinach. Their produce can also be found at the Ithaca Farmers Market, Greenstar, at local restaurants and on the Seneca & Cayuga Wine Trail. Lucy and Chaw grow a beautiful U-Pick garden that is always open to CSA members. It includes perennial herbs, okra, cherry tomatoes, and much more. Stick and Stone Farm is certified organic.  Lucy, Chaw, Greta, Ezra, Rhoda, and Luca host the Wednesday farm pick-up.  You can learn more about Stick and Stone Farm on their website: http://www.localharvest.org/stick-and-stone-farm-M6976

Three Swallows Farm (directions)

PU Saturdays 10am - 2pm

The Saturday farm pick-up is hosted in Three Swallow's barn on Nelson Road. Ann Piombino and the LACS Youth Farm Project  manage this historical farm adjacent to the Ithaca Waldorf School.  Students from LACS and other youth groups in the area such as South Side and the Youth Employment Service grow our CSA U-Pick garden and grow an additional garden for their own use.  Much of the produce they grow will funnel directly into the LACS lunch program, nourishing the student body. We at the Full Plate will work closely with the students and their leading teacher, Dan Flerlage, to make sure that this is a productive experience for all of us, including our members. Remembrance Farm (directions)

Nathaniel, Emily, Nathalie and Edith Thompson farm in Trumansburg. They specialize in salad greens, onions, root crops, and pasture-raised eggs. Beyond the CSA, you can find their vegetables at GreenStar, the T-burg ShurSave, and served at many restaurants in the Ithaca area and regionally.  Remembrance Farm is certified organic and certified Biodynamic.  You can learn more at Remembrance Farm's website, www.remembrancefarm.org.
